Where do you source your fabrics?
All our cotton fabrics are grown and processed in India. Our supplier is a family run business that strives to reach start-up companies by working on the lowest minimum orders, helping eco-fabrics to become mainstream.
Are your fabrics organic?
Currently the transaction certificates on our fabrics stops at our supplier's end. We are working towards being able to have the certification extended up to our part in the supply chain.
How are your printed fabrics designed?
We brainstorm our designs together. Our in house artist then takes the brief and sketches them out with anything from pen and ink to colour pencils. The final patterns are finished on computer and made ready for the printers.
How are your fabrics printed?
Our fabrics are digitally printed in India using eco-friendly inks. Digital printing also allows us the freedom of greater detail in our designs.
What else can be said of Windblown Textiles?
We are a young business with the goal of contributing to positive change in the textile industry. We are passionate about art, colours and fabrics and desire to share this with others in a manner that doesn’t cause harm to people or the environment along the way.
As a business we consider the impact our actions have and strive to pay attention to the finer details. Such limiting our use of plastic, while reusing wrapping and boxes (which we stash away in order to repurpose). We aim for a zero waste workshop, even our courier bags are compostable (just remove the labels beforehand).
We believe in quality and the longevity and lessened waste that comes with buying better. We’re into slow fashion and enjoy taking our time and giving considered thought to what we make.
